This Public Percent for Art project is in the middle of a new building for the local Anchorage juvenile facility. Employing concrete, sloped and contoured landscaping, trees and lights, the courtyard becomes a defined and active space where before it was merely leftover space between building wings, forgotten by the building architects. The sloped surfaces are especially poignant in winter.
